Restyle Your Home For Spring

Spring has sprung and it is starting to get warmer.  The traditional time of year to come out of hibernation and to refresh. But where to start?

We have compiled a list of 7 ideas of how to welcome the new season into your home.

  1. The Spring Clean.

Starting traditionally, the spring clean is a well-worn tradition and for good reason. Start fresh by decluttering, cutting down on the volume of items owned and give your home a good clean. You can declutter in the style of Marie Kondo (see our blog here). Give your home a deep clean by refreshing soft furnishing such as sofas, curtains and carpets, all of which benefit from a thorough or even professional clean. Pull items out of cupboards and drawers in order to declutter, clean and reorganise. Help the organisation along with tubs and baskets,

  1. Change out Fabrics

In winter we love velvets and fleece, it is all about cuddly fabrics. But along with spring and sunshine why not pull out softer and lighter fabrics? Pack away and store bulky and dark blankets and instead style with lighter linen throws. Changing out cushion covers is another easy way to update the look of a room, consider both material and colour.

  1. Colour Scheme

Breathe air into your home by bringing in lighter colours. Why not change out the hero artwork in the room and chose some of those colours for scatter cushions for a subtle coordinated look? Or change out accessories such as vases and decorative pieces?

  1. Freshen up your Bedroom

Pack away the thick and heavy duvet with its dark cover and switch it out for lighter colours and fabrics. Start every morning in a space which makes you feel at peace and fresh for the day, rather than your winter cave.

  1. Bring the Outdoors In

Indoor plants are more than a fad. They bring additional air and colour into a room and are an easy care why to add style. Check out our blog on the houseplants you probably won’t kill here.

  1. Follow your Nose…

Aroma is a powerful influencer, and finding a space enjoyable has far more to it that just style. In winter, we tend to favour spicier scents, but in spring lift your home with florals and fresher smells, either through candles or reed diffusers. Bring the scents of the garden into your home for a subtle lift.

  1. Let there be Light

Another small change you can make to your home that can make a significant difference is updating your lighting. Change out the shades on lamps or add additional lights to a space. Why not create a magical space outdoors with new lights, now that it is warming up for you to enjoy them on spring evenings?

We hope you find this helpful, Happy Spring!
